I Have Returned June 3, 2014

Hello everyone!

It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted on here! It appears as if my senior year wasn’t much of a slide at all. I was really quite busy this year, and to be honest, completely forgot that this blog even existed. I really don’t mean for this to be solely a summer project, but that seems like what it’s become, seeing as I haven’t been back for a year!

Anyways, this is just a quick update for everyone, in case you’re still following StoryCloset.

I’m still working on my novel-in-progress (as I have been for over 4 years). It’s had quite a few bumps along the way and characters and plots have been changed. It’s been an adventure, and I’m still trying to work out the details without second guessing myself, which has been happening a lot lately. 

Most of my doubts come from me thinking, “would people actually read this?” I just feel like the story needs to be perfect and incredibly original. However, there are only so many different structures that stories can have, so I’ve been trying to figure out what I want this story to be, and polish THAT story. Anyway, it’s been a year’s worth of crazy thoughts about this book, and I really do want it to work. I’ve written a couple of short stories during that time, but other than that, I’ve mostly been chugging away at this book and trying to make it happen, which includes reading more! I just finished The Fault in Our Stars, so I’m gonna throw that little product placement out there, just because John Green is a fantastic writer. 

At any rate, if any of you have had similar experiences, or even anything you’d want to throw in, let me know in the comments! As usual, I love talking with any fellow writers out there!

Rest, Relaxation, and Writing June 6, 2013

Hey everyone!
I haven’t been on here in a while again! I think it’s been two weeks…maybe. I don’t remember. Sorry my posting has been so sporadic. That’s what summer does to me I guess. However, I have been working hard!
As many of you may remember from my last post, I recently started over on my novel in progress with one of my friends. It’s definitely been something interesting and in a way feels like I have a summer college class. I put deadlines on my phone and document the number of pages I write each day, trying to write at least ten pages a week.

New Developments May 27, 2013

Well hello everyone!
I realize that I’ve been offline for quite a bit now, maybe about a week without having posted anything. I feel like this happens a lot…(sorry).
But in my opinion so much has been happening! Since my last post of the new prologue to my book, I’ve started over (again)…
However, I have some good reasons for having started over again! I promise!
I’ve been wanting to write a novel with a friend for quite some time now, but I was having a really hard time finding someone to write it with. I’ve had (and still have) several different editors for my story. Lots of people like to read my raw drafts and give me input and even come up with new scenarios that they’d like to see, but up until now, there just wasn’t anyone who really wanted to write it with me.

The Jericho Chronicles – Prologue May 20, 2013

Hey everybody!

As you may (or may not) have noticed, I have ceased posting the segments from my old “Revelation of Narnia” story. It appeared that it was not getting much viewership so I decided to just stop posting it. Of course, if anyone still wants to read the rest of it, I can resume posting it, but for now it has been canceled. 

What I’m about to post here isn’t a particularly new project, however, I have been steadily revising it so it feels new. Below will be the new prologue for the novel that I’ve been writing for about a year and half now. I have already completed the first rough draft and am in the process of editing/revising/writing the second draft right now so that’s kinda exciting!!
